About Driving Spirit
Driving Spirit is targeted at people who enjoy fast but affordable cars, specifically hot hatchbacks.
The hot hatch market has always been incredibly popular as they provide an affordable way of having fun behind the wheel. With growing pressures on manufacturers to cut emissions and meet stringent regulations the hot hatch market is benefiting from the demise of bigger and more expensive sports cars.
By targeting the hot hatch market Driving Spirit also avoids getting lost in the crowd of car blogs that report on anything to do with cars. The site was launched in September 09
History of the blog Driving Spirit first launched in September 2009, starting off as a source of car news.
We then started to include a few car reviews on the site and that was the turning point for the site. Driving Spirit now has support from a number of motor manufacturers who are prepared to lend us vehicles for review.
From its humble beginnings the site has developed into a respected presence in the automotive industry, to the point where we are also invited to car launches. 2012 saw a visit to Rolls Royce for the unveiling of the all new Phantom Series II, quite a scoop for such a small player in the market. We also raced Astra VXRs in a timed sprint and learned to drift in a Toyota GT86.
Future plans for the blog 2012 was a great year for Driving Spirit, with invitations to a number of motoring events and car launches. As we head into 2013 the plans are for more of the same - more reviews and more events attended.
As our YouTube channel continues to grow there will be a push to more video content.
We'll also be concentrating on the social media presence of the site, with continued growth planned for both Twitter and Facebook.
